WBT 1.jpgWelcome to the 2020-2021 school year here at William B. Travis Elementary! Our mission is to be responsive to the needs of our students and staff with systems that produce successful student outcomes through growth and development for all.

The new William B. Travis Elementary School opened in August of 2017 as one of three new elementary schools and a renovated facility to serve Marshall ISD students in grades K-5. The project was part of the Legacy 2017 building program born out of the passage of a $109,200,000.00 bond issue approved by MISD voters in May 2015. Our new school was constructed on the site of the old William B. Travis Elementary, which was closed following the 2016-2017 school year and demolished prior to the opening of the new campus in September 2017.

We are proud of the progress we have made at WBT over the last two years. Entering our new building in 2017, WBT had been rated as Improvement Required by the Texas Education Agency for four straight years. As one of Marshall ISD's two bilingual campuses, the new WBT debuted, however, with a Met Standard rating in 2018 and achieved a grade of "B" in the state's new accountability system. We achieved another Met Standard rating in 2019, although our grade slipped to a "C" -- at 79. Our students and staff are not satisfied and will continue to work to make WBT the best we can be!

School hours at WBT are 7:500 a.m. - 3:21 p.m., Monday-Friday, during the school year. Early dismissal on designated Early Release days is 12:20 p.m.

Our WBT staff comes to school every day to serve our students and make a difference in their lives! We thank you for your support and feel free to drop by and visit us anytime at WBT: The Place To Be in Marshall, Texas!
